Being married is hard enough without having completely different politics. My husband and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum so we’re usually able to avoid confrontation by just not talking about certain things but at the end of the day sometimes we have to deal with issues that affect our everyday life. For example, I’m all about the environment (he calls me a “hippy”) and I’ve started looking into ambit electric green initiatives and even a compost pile for the backyard. He on the other hand can’t even remember to turn off a light when he leaves the room which drives me absolutely up the wall. These things are pretty small but I wish they weren’t issues at all. It would definitely be easier for us to be happy if we didn’t have these fights but you know, at the end of the day we really love each other and that’s all that really matters, right? I can honestly say that’s true.

I'm guessing your husband's a Republican, if he calls you a hippy. But he's forgetting his roots. Conservatism means turning off lights when you're not in the room, I thought.
Actually, the post was a guest post, otherwise known as selling my space to the highest bidder. I didn't write it, the sponsor did. I suspect that it's heavy in SEO sort of words.
