Robby Wash: Product Review and Giveaway

Robby Wash Balls

Oui, oui!

The French have done it! The Robby Wash ball made me want to jauntily throw a beret on my head and climb the Eiffel Tower in clean, fresh smelling clothes.

Direct from Europe, Our Daily Green had the opportunity to test and review this revolutionary product. The Robby Wash ball is one of the most unique ideas in the realm of laundry since the old fashioned crank machines.

When we were contacted to review the product, we were skeptical. We'd found a laundry powder that we were pleased with, except for one issue. We bought it in such a huge container that it has all clumped together and now in order to do our laundry, we must grate the soap first. Yes, that really is a cheese grater in our bucket of laundry detergent. It's frankly become a real pain to do laundry, as I first must chisel from the block of soap, then grate it back into a powder before I can measure and use it. Unfortunately, I'm quite frugal and there is nothing wrong with the detergent other than it fused together.

Imagine my delight to test the Robby Ball. When it arrived in a small cardboard box weighing less than a pound, I couldn't believe it would do a year's worth of laundry. The wash ball is slightly smaller than a softball and filled with small cleaning pellets. There is no measuring involved, just toss the ball in the load and the pellets do the work. Each ball comes with three refill packets of pellets and a small stain stick. Our Daily Green received two balls to test, one for whites to use in either hot or cold water, and one for darks and colors to use in cold water.

The way the balls work is that the pellets ionize the water to pull the dirt away from the clothing. According to the website:
The Robby Wash ball uses a unique and patented worldwide technology to clean your laundry even better than the powder laundry detergents it was independently tested against. Activated macromolecules are gradually released through the wash, dissolving dried-in stains by generating ions which activate the water molecules.  This increase in the pH enables the activated molecules to penetrate deep into the fabrics and attach themselves to the stains. As the motion of the drum agitates the clothes, the stains come away easily from the fabric and dissolve in the water.  Of all the systems on the market, Robby Wash's effectiveness is tested, proven and guaranteed.
As soon as we use the last of our powdered detergent, we will be switching to the Robby Ball. I think it would also be an excellent product to send with my soon-to-be college student doing laundry for the first time.  Some additional facts about the Robby Ball:

  • Hypoallergenic and great choice as a baby laundry detergent cleaner or for someone with sensitive skin
  • Cleans and protects your clothes
  • Guards fabrics against oxidation and discoloration caused by chlorine in the water, and maintains your clothes' springiness
  • Eliminates unpleasant smells thanks to its antibacterial action
Don't just take our word for it. One lucky reader will have the chance to win the Robby Wash Balls.

Our Daily Green received two complimentary Robby Balls to review for today's post. Nonetheless, our opinion of grating powdered detergent as well as wanting to wear a beret is completely our own. If only there were a product that would also fold and put away the lovely clean clothes. One doesn't only have to dream of Paris.

  1. Such sweet timing considering our dear friend, Dee, is in Paris right now :) This sounds like an amazing and money-saving product. I do sooooo much laundry now with two adults and four kids. Did the laundry have any smell when it finished or does it just smell "clean"?

    1. It has no artificial perfumes, but there is a very slight fresh scent. I get a headache from the perfumed soaps and this hasn't caused me any issues at all. I really am looking forward to summer and letting the clothes dry outdoors.

  2. Interesting - since I have to watch carefully for scented and "add ins" with laundry detergent - I tend to use liquid, top load washers so powder was never on my radar. Interesting stuff -

And I like their pages - I may have to look into ordering some other pieces...

  10. I'm up for anything that makes doing laundry simpler! Lol. I appreciate that it isn't overly scented as well. My skin generally reacts to heavily perfumed detergents.
